Mini Cooper S vs 318is: Which should I get?

It may be apples ot oranges to you but it makes sense to me. I can get JCW Mini for $11,000, but it is less reliable (I think) than an e30. It is also a lot more feminine and fwd. Then again its newer, faster, maybe better handling. The e30 looks better, ways the same, has a more reliable engine, and also would give me more room to get nice rims and a new suspension if I wanted. Thwy would fill the same role to me, apples to apples.

The E30 is cheaper to buy, RWD, arguably more practical, and has the potential to out-handle just about any car on the road (including the Mini). But it's an old car and will require lots of maintenance up front. And a 318is is going to be slow by modern standards.

lol guys seriously... If you do the same suspension work to a mini there's no way an e30 will out handle it. I have doubts even with suspension work. My moms mini is ridiculous around corners, easily out handles my e30. Mini = newer more reliable car, better engine/suspension. Anyone who thinks only chicks drive them has clearly never driven one themself because minis are a blast to take through corners, and are really nice to drive around, especially in congested areas where tight maneuvers are required.
