Modern up your taillights.

Recently I've noticed how darker our taillights are compared with newer cars. I wanted my taillights to shine a little more but did not see anything on the market.

Solution:

I clear coated my rear tails. Looks a little better, cost under $4. This might be something you suckers wanna try.

I agree. When I painted my tails all red, I clear coated the whole thing. It looks awesome.

heres mine, exactly as you have described it - corner painted red to match then a few clear coat layers. it does make it lighter

ok, clearcoating the tails seems dumb to me.... if they are dull, then get some plastic polish.

the clear coat will just fade and possibly crack in the future.

Clear coat makes them look more dull to me. Polish or wet sanding would be the way to do it.

Later style smoked tails are ugly to me, way too black. The early ones are hot though.

I clear coated my sandblasted foglights. That helped significantly, then I protected them with Lamin-X.
