What could you drop this motor into to make a sick monstrosity?

That is really badass, such a shame there is no more left. I had (still have) a huge thing for the Touareg V10 TDI's.

Anyone is talking about horsepower does not deserve a diesel.

propane injection + a M21= fun on the 1/4 mile till it came apart after 3 runs and drilling the injector nozzle bigger and BIGGER each run.
dont waste your time they are crap motors and they really arent that efficient anyway.

i had a 77 benz 240d, some extra fuel filters and a heat exchange and it ran on filtered veggie oil, very cool concept but if you live anywhere where it gets under 50 or 40 not the best idea... solidized veggie oil through the whole fuel line and into the block.... not to mention vegetable oil ruins your distributers. i really really would like to see a td e30 though.... because everyone knows euro diesels last forever, best DD idea ever.

Alternate source in the US for the M21 was Diesel powered Lincolns from the early 80's.

The weak point in the M21 for HO is the rods. Really I dont know how well the M21 would respond to more boost more fuel with the shitty M20 head design, but I dont think 275hp/450ft/lbs at the wheels would be outta line On petrol diesel though. I think longevity would be a bigger issue at that point

All that said I would really like a X5d for the little woman's DD but she wants a new Yukon instead

The newest generation of BMW diesels are nice, anything older = no thank you. And the VW TDI still sounds like a tractor.
