      Adjust to .010 when cold.
Stop paying your mechanic to adjust your valves - it's really not that difficult. We'll show you how to on the 3-Series E30 six-cylinder engines.

so the article in pelican says to jack up the car on one side IF the car doesnt have LSD. so if I have a LSD then I jack up the both rear wheels?

Fuck that shit. take out all the plugs put it in neutral, e-brake on and a (disclaimer: fused) jumper wire between pins 11 and 14 of the diagnostic connector (on late model connectors.)

It bumps the starter just tap it bit by bit.

You could go through the trouble of putting a momentary contact switch in the wire to make it easier but I did it with just a piece of wire and it worked great.

I leave the car in neutral and rotate the engine by hand - just use a long breaker bar/ratchet if you left the plugs in.

does the gap depend on age?

ive got 280,000kms on a unopened motor, when gapped to spec my car sounds like a turbodiesel lol people told me to do it a bit tighter next time.

I have gone as tight as .006" cold with no problems on higher mileage motors. Really quiets the "sewing machine" lol.

From pelican article "Once you have adjusted both the exhaust and intake sides of the cylinder, you will want to take the parking brake off, and PUSH the car in 5th gear until the cam lobes are in the proper position to adjust the second cylinder. "

                      Pretty retarded...
