    IIRC, mine was 11xx shipped.

    People might poopoo the idea, but BMW changed the dash compound on these so that they can sit in the sun and not split.

    I say if you have the means, then you should.

      "IF" you have the means, of course.

      On the Alpine II DD 318is I use one of the "fuzzy" dash pads that's in great condition and it looks fantastic in the car. It hides the 2 cracks or so. And for the Texas summer sun, I imagine it may help protect it when you're in the store? I know some people can't stand 'em though. Not sure if you'd be interested, but if you are, I'll toss the brand too you.

      $50.00 for a dash is pretty good. I've tried to buy basic stuff up here in Washington State and several of the "local" (within 25 miles) all wanted some ridiculous sums of money. $45.00 for a vinyl shift knob?
