Damn a schwarz brother lost, and a four door at that. I fear black ice every season and threads like these remind me why.
SC*AR (Schwarz Army)
No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.
It was sadly a color that never made it over to the US. It was a true Grey market car, imported from Germany.
85' 318i slick-top.
170k miles.
There isnt enough Ice on the road for the road crews to be out yet. This spot just happens to have the right conditions for black ice to come about.
they usually do all the freeways and on/offramps here as soon as the temp hits freezing. there doesn't have to be any ice. Is it that much different in your county? you're barely 50 miles away.
i'm sure the 5.0 mustang didnt walk away either (pics?).. Why is your roof dented in such a way?... what happened to you?

they are extremely sticky rubber, and have looked like they are low on tread from the day I bought them. Not even a year old.
Im not sure when they start de-icing the off-ramps.
they're also not appropriate for freezing temps as you found out. sticky performance summer tires get hard when the temperature drops. Snow tires stay soft.
I've been where you are though. it sucks. but you'll move on (to another E30, hopefully).
