Low weight + balance > torque
    you should've built a m42 spece30

Nothing can be made up for the low end of an 2.7L. Even the gearing when the eta does 85 maxed out in 3rd gear and still pulls 4th an 5th. I miss the 318i tho
clearly never had an "i" car. your eta's extra 10lb/ft of low rpm tq does not make up for the huge amount of power left on the table compared to a b25. typical eta owner delusions.

M42 is gutless compared to newer Honda 4cyl engines, go drive an RSX...way more torque.

pretty sure M42s aren't allowed in SpecE30 because nobody built them. Same with etas.. the goal of the series is to have the cheapest/safest builds, not the fastest cars. that's easier when everyone has the same car to start with.

um i have been in a b25, i never said that my eta was more powerfull than an I, I said the eta pulled alot harded than a m10. And im sure it pulls harder than a m42 aswell. I never said anything about a b25. The b25 has a rpm range as in mid and top end.

From what I understand, noone was ever competitive enough. They would probably fair well on the lower speed tracks, but anyting up to 90-100 I wouldnt think they'd stand a chance.

its hard to understand your version of the english language but this is the eta-loving bs i was referring to. i dont know what your definition of 'pulling' is but an eta with 2.93 or 2.79 rear gear in .81 fifth gear is barely pulling its own weight.

I find the m42 very rewarding to drive hard. Its a fun light weight car that if driven correctly can be very satisfying. No, it doesnt have power down low but if you keep it above 5k its great. There is no room for error with the m42, but what a great feeling when you put in a good time. Its the perfect autocross/dd in my opinion.

now youre just trippin. have you ever driven a proper m20 e30? that first e30 you had does not count...

come ride in my car someday.

anywho i do agree the m42 in an e30 is great. all e30s are great! but i dont like working on m42s.

Car had to much issues man. Theres more issues then the eyes can see. I want to start fresh with a bone stock E30. So I would know what has been done to the car instead of finding random problems everyday. Yeah lol I heard your car is quite a beast.

I liked mine when it had the M42 in it.

So because the I is more powerful than the eta, the m10 is faster than the eta?
