1) Playstation 2 in the glove box.
2) Flip out dvd deck that did not fit for shit.
3) Let oil spill everywhere in the motor.
4) Made the e30 an electrical night mare with AUX cords, Power inverters.. everywhere..
5) sold me the car and the master clutch cylinder took a shit after I just bought it.

The PO removed the gas tank, cut it in half and sealed it off so only the passenger side of the tank would hold gas. He then welded the tank back together. Next he put the tank back in the car and cut an access door, which opened and closed with an actuator into the driverside of the tank thru the floor of the car. It took me about a month after buying the car to find it.

I can finally post in this thread, cause I finally found something really dumb:

1. installed heater hoses going through firewall backwards, therefore, no heat.
2. apparently resprayed half the car. like literally right down the middle. only noticeable in certain light


but its fine.

reupholstered the passenger seat, installed it as the driver's seat. Lost the "passenger seat" and told me the rear bench was reupholstered like the front seat.

I have a plaid driver's seat (really a passenger, controls are on tranny tunnel side), a grey sport vinyl passenger seat (real passenger seat, so two passenger seats LOL) and a tan ripped to shit bench in the back...

(Was a tan vinyl interior car, the grey seat I just picked up at the junkyard so I could finally carry passengers)

Most of the annoying problems with my car I was fully aware of when I bought it (thermostat, blower motor, etc) however the dumb stuff I've seen:

1. Horse c*ck shift knob
2. Radio didn't work (some forensic wiring revealed it was the 5th in the cars' history) installed HORRIBLY. Cut four stereo harnesses out of the dash.
3. 1990's horrible car alarm
4. By far the worst... at some point there was a sub installed in the trunk of the car. The amp was being run off of the battery. When I went to go disconnect the battery I found a fully stripped and live amplifier wire still attached to the positive terminal of the battery. It looked as though he just popped the battery cover off, cut the wire, and put the cover back on.

Oh gawd...
1. I got my eta with some neon blue lights in the interior lighting up the floor boards.
2. It came with some weird autozone predators shift knob
3. Blown blower moter.
4. No heat.
5. Instrument cluster was all fucked up. odo frozen at 180
6. M-Tech 1 wheel was fucked. Leather came off on your hands
7. Coolant leak somewhere.
8. Damn near all the lights were lit up on the check pannel.
9. Vaccume leak.
10. Glovebox was locked. Key was missing
11. Gave me 3 different keys. Only 1 worked in the ignition.

I feel so lucky, my car was 100 percent bone stock untouched goodness.

Mine too! Even the factory sticker about how to run in the engine
was and still is on the car! :-D

PO installed a fuel pump from a 318...in my 325.

Put the passenger front door seal on apparently blindfolded AND drunk

Installed THE WORLD'S DUMBEST FAKE MOMO shift knob

Had no kick panel or glovebox

Told me it was 'the performance model' (base 'e' model)! DDurrrrr!

Honestly, I think the guy was trying; he just wasn't a BMW guy.

My PO was a real ASS.
He left the car out in the sun for 21-years without ever using a sun shield or a car cover and now the dash is cracked to shit.

Let it rust to hell
Screwed in the rubber back bumper
Installed a new headunit by routing wires everywhere - under the console, through the carpet, up the rear seat, clearly visible
Tried to fix the paint but failed badly

He didnt know that the overdrive button was there
He didnt know the the paint wasnt factory paint. He told me that it was.
He put some red stripe around the basketweaves
Some stupid stereo with only tweeters working with the factory amp.
Deleted one of the wipers.
Plenty of stopleak liquid in the radiator
Put a stupid no name cone air filter
Intrax springs that have lower spring rates than factory

Clean car overall compared to stuff mentioned in this thread.
