    Stupid WMA files...help, please.

So my stupid music files on my stupid computer won't burn to a stupid MP3 CD because they're in stupid WMA format. Do you know of any burning programs that will convert these files? Or maybe a way that i can convert them and still burn with musicmatch or Nero or whatever?

I'm starting to get annoyed with these files. Can't burn 45 CD's....it will just take way too damn long.

Yah, I believe the deal with Windows Media Player.. is that you can only convert to mp3 to burn if you upgrade to some professional version. ($$) So typical microsoft.
I've downloaded a few trial versions of file converters (search google), and they work alright.
I still have not found anything decent, that works with windows, that is free.

I'm pretty sure CDex converts WMA to MP3.

Get a LAME MP3 encoder. I use the LAME encoder with my Nero Burning ROM and its pretty sweet.

              so I downloaded LAME

how the hell does it work?

does it automatically change all of your files over to MP3 or what? I mean, I tried to open the program, and I got a little black box, then nothing. How am I supposed to know it's working?

I used LAME to rip vinyl records into Mp3s. It's a very good program, but I used it in Linux.

you need a front end.. like EAC. lame is just a compression algorithm.

                    oh here we go.

You might as well have just said "compression ratio" to a dog. I can build a computer, but shit, I know nothing else.

                    I suppose I'm stuck with 15-song CD's for now.

                    Thanks for the help though.
