Exhaust ticket! Help?

Wow you guys got it rough. What exhaust do you have?

It may be a lot of work, but I just read through ~8 pages of the thread and he won his appeal after losing the district case. On page 8 (I think) he posted the arguments that were prepared by his law school friend of a friend. Could be very helpful to you and a good place to start. His extensive testing was rejected from being entered into evidence, so perhaps you wouldn't even have to do that aspect. A well prepared case addressing the exact citation you were served with may be sufficient to throw out your case, specifically if there were no tests administered on site (if required in your state/city, this is something you'd need to research) and that the officer used his subjective opinion to determine the illegality of your exhaust's noise level. Remember to orate well and be presentable in court (khakis, shirt and tie at least if not a suit) if you choose to appeal.

I will have to wait until I get everything in the mail. The things that sucks hiss the Pennsylvania laws are a little bit different of course. It is a good outline though. I'm thinking if I pass the test by the Ref everything will be okay. If I don't it will be difficult.

I am not sure what brand it is but I dont believe its stock. Its just single in dual out with 3" tips I think.

If the cop didnt test it with a meter the case will be thrown out if you plead not guilty. thats like giving someone a speeding ticket without actually measuring there speed by radar or pacing. I would definitly fight this, the cop was prolly pissed cuz he doenst make shit n has a shitty life. maybe he'll be taken out on a ruetine traffik in the future.

You have a point. I will definitely see what I can do, but now that I think about it, that is enough proof to show he has no right.

The cop was very kind though, he could have got me for an illegal u turn and maybe speeding. He may have been bored, but you can't say he doesn't make shit and has a shitty life! haha As much as I would like to hate on him!

Don't fight it(waste of time)
Just get a resonator, it won't affect ur numbers to much, and just pay the ticket. I've been busted fot that a million times on my old 240 w/ a giant fart can muffler. Even though I had 2 resonators and a silencer :)

read his report when you go to court for it, hoipefully all he wrote is that it was an aftermarket muffler. If he doesnt mention anything about it being too loud then you can prob get it off. thats how i got mine off a while ago, although that was in washington
