And comparing two different motors isn't fair either.

Both motors, on the same dyno, on the same day with the same chip, is the only real way to make a comparison.

Hell you could have had a stronger motor to being with.

Thanks every body for all the feed back, it has been very helpful. Does anybody know where to get a custom tune in the bay area and how much they cost.

this might be ot, but how about a markd chip compared to a maf conversion from miller? They both have available 19# inj and chip, but the MAF conversion sounds more appealing from throttle response alone.

Is'nt the Miller MAF like triple the price of a chip?
            Edit:
Nvm if you get the WAR chip and MAF its 600
            is that worth it?
            really expensive
Whats the difference between that and running a K&N cone filter and a mark d chipw/19lb injectors?

Yes, the MAF conversion (comes with a traditional style chip) is 299, the MAF and WAR Chip Combo (the USB rewriteable performance chip) is 599.

Like I have said before, if you install a reputable tuner's software and see almost no gain, you need to check your TPS. There is no way a professional "generic" tune only gives 3 or 4 HP...

Yeah I'd like to know this too I have the miller maf/war setup and I want to put in my #17 injectors and have it tuned.

it's a mass air flow sensor with a Wright And Remap chip.
Whilst a cone filter let's hot air in and has nothing to do with the Air Flow Meter. Mark d chips aren't remapable but are good for most peoples applications

+1. A stock M20 should put down at least 130. My M20 w/Conforti chip (and no other mods) put down 148whp and 147wtq on a Dyno Dynamics machine, which are considered to be conservative.

I like Turner chips because they've been around forever; they have proved to be reliable and efficient. I am not against the MD chip, I just prefer Conforti.

I also recall that most/all other aftermarket chips including turner only mess with WOT mapping, while the Mark D also tunes for partial throttle. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I also recall mileage going up with a Mark D (if you can keep your foot out of it, it was hard for me when I got mine).
                        paint sucks

You may be thinking of the old Dinan chips that only worked under WOT. TMS is in effect across the r3v range.

You can get the Miller maf with Miller 19lb chip for only $299 from their site. The maf includes a chip for either stock or 19lb injectors. You don't NEED to buy the war chip to get the maf. Its a big difference compared to just a mark D chip w/ big injectors, with my mark D chip the car used to run really rich upon start up, and take a very long time for the ECU to adjust after a reset(and for some reason only with my car I got a very weak bottom end after ECU had adjusted). Miller chip and maf w/ big injectors never runs rich, ECU mellows out the rough idle and rich condition of a reset ECU within 15minutes.

Are the injectors included, or do i buy those seperately from somewhere else?
Then i will do the miller MAF, what if i already have a K&N cone filter? do i just toss it?

injectors can be found on ebay for about $50, usually people put the cone filter on the end of the MAF:)
