Very true. Him and Alonso Know how to speak with their engineers like no other drivers can...

except maybe Pedro de la rosa... Wouldn't that be interesting.

dude, i just watched the 2006 season in review last night and man was it some good stuff between Alonso and Schui. it would be sweet if they pick up where they both left off, and against each other.

Should be very interesting to see how it pans out. I'm kind of excited to see some new teams and big names pulling out, will hopefully turn into a good rebuilding year for F1. I still have mixed feelings about Schumacher, he was always my favorite growing up, but comebacks never seem to go well, but he definitely wouldn't be coming back unless he had a chance to be very competitive.

Quali is part 1 [really pt 2] of the race weekend. If youre not good at qualifying than youre not going to do well during the race.

Also, Heidfeld has been one of the most consistent drivers in the past couple of years, he has finished all but 2 races. And in both years Kubica has beat him in the points.

Kubica briefly led the championship in 2008 after the Canada GP win [it was a gift since Hamilton dosent know what a red light means]. And yes Heidfeld was second in the race but 4th or 5th in pts after that weekend.

And to further back my point... Kubica has been signed for 2010.

I'm not disagreeing on your point that Kubica is better than Heidfeld. What I'm saying is that Kubica may not fair as well in a direct comparison in a different chassis.

As far as Quali goes, I have two words for you: Trulli & Toyota

Oh man, THAT was some exciting racing. If we could relive that all this year...

Great points about Kubica v Heidfeld. I guess they'll settle it on the track. That's the only way to know.

edit: ANOTHER example of quali driving... Rosberg. What the hell?

That doesnt hold up. You can qualify well and race poorly or you can qualify poorly and race well.

either way doesnt get you points

Niki Lauda didn't seem to have a problem winning with poor qualifying performance. He also doesn't have much trouble stabbing people in the back, even today. My point was that cars react differently to different drivers, and vice-versa. By some fluke the new Renault might not take kindly to Kubica's inputs. It might prefer to have it's neck wrung like Alonso used to do to his Renault. Or it could want the silky-smooth inputs of Vettel and respond accordingly: smooth, predictable, fast. Just because Kubica is faster in one car does not necessarily make him faster in another. (though, as I stated before, I think he will be)

Regardless, Kubica v. Heidfeld will make an interesting racing season. As will Button v. Hamilton & Alonso v. Massa. And my favorite matchup: Schumacher v. Vettel.

Has anyone heard Rosberg's take on Schumi snatching his #3? All I heard was Michael's side.

Heidfeld beat Kubica in points last year, not to mention how did Kubica win in Canada in 2008? The team told Heidfeld to let him pass so that Kubica would have a chance at the world championship. This was all after he started 8th and Kubica started 2nd. Heidfeld=better racer, Kubica=better qualifier.

In the races however, Heidfeld Always seems to out preform Kubica. Last year in points, consistency and calculated passing. and Dont forget Heidfeld pulled off 2 Double passes in Spa (i believe it was spa) during the 2008 season.

I do think Kubica will be better. But I still see Heidfeld as a better driver for now, and Kubica as the better qualifier.
Spot on. I see Heidfeld as the Wayne Chrebet of F1.
