I thought the race was great, but most of the excitement came in the last 10 laps watching Vettel try to limp it home. And get a podium! Button/Schumacher battle was entertaining...until Button gave up after 6 laps.

Apparently Button had no readout on his steering wheel so he couldn't tell how many revs he was pushing, or speeds, or any of that, so if that's true I think he did a pretty damn good job driving the car just by ear.

I did not know that. That is impressive. However, the team did tell him early on that he was 10 kph faster on the straights than Michael (iow: Get on with it!).

I agree, but it makes it a little easier to understand why he was getting off the corners a little worse than Michael, probably a little excess wheel spin.

I am guessing Hamilton, Alonso, Button in that order sadly. RBR is not so good at the low speed corners.

EDIT: Just dropped Jenson from my fantasy team, can't have more than one Englishman on the team at a time, and I think Hamilton is sadly better at qualifying(extremely important at Monaco) and at Monaco in general, so I had to pick him up.

I can appreciate a good driver regardless of whether he's a bastard or a saint. In his case I don't think he's a bastard but he's no saint either. Ofcourse this can be said about anyone though.

Actually he's slightly, well alot better than good in my uneducated, completely biased opinion :-D

Apparently Vettel was told the retire the car after his front left brake was gone. Thats the sort of driving I like to see!

Vettel's performance was--by far--the best this weekend. Webber was quick, but never challenged. Vettel had to nurse that car for the last 10 laps. I mean really drive with as light a touch as possible & keep the corner speeds up. Listen to his downshifts and watch his braking points on the last 3 laps especially. All engine braking. He took a podium spot with that performance. (granted, at Hamilton's expense)

^Thats not the sort of thing you can word as a fact, cause there are so many variables... Granted he did a good job to get the car home, but cornering wasn't his problem, so keeping his corner speeds up, as you said, wouldn't have been an issue, just making sure he was slow enough to take the corner without cooking the brakes...

And if someone is unchallenged I put it to you that its because no one else could on that particular day...
