E34 M5. Why? Because I am unaware there were any other options.

I fail to see how an M5 Touring, an A4 Avant, or any of these 2005 model cars fit his "under 10k" requirement.

Good point, another case of forgetting to read the first page again...1.8T passat is still my vote. Could be almost fun with a chip/5spd.

We are looking for a subaru impreza wagon right now.

I hope we find one; they look like great cars. I'll update the thread - until then keep adding cars that fit into what i'm looking for.

                        Thanks,

                        -Spencer

I had a touring and loved it. I paid 9.5k 3 years ago for this:

out of the list shown I would go for the subbie since you get the AWD, I'm sure that would help in the northern part of NA

Why did you sell it? That looks very very very nice!! What modifications did you do besides the obvious (rims, tint etc) ?

                              I had just bought a 95 M3, and was fixing the E30 M3 from a small rear-ender accident, and couldn't afford insurance on 3 BMW's with 5 points in 2 years.

I liked the wagon, but missed the handling of the E30 M3, so I bought the E36 M3.

I wish I hadn't sold it since it was an incredible car. If I had kept it, there would be a 3.0L M3 motor shoved in there (my friend had one to sell me)

                              anyways on mods...

I bought the car as you see it and only put a set of smoked front turn signals and side markers on the car, and stereo stuff.

but on when I bought the car...

                              zender side skirts
roundel 17x8.5 front and 17x10 rear M-contour replica wheels
some kind of lowering springs (I think they were blue)
                              dechromed trim
                              tinted windows

                              I think that's about it

as far as maitnence, I drove it 25,000 miles in 10 months and only changed the oil, the car was damned reliable
