            wouldn't a CF chassis be quite a bit stiffer as well?

              Looks like all they did Nando were doors and all the body panels so it isn't any stiffer. I could only imagine how much weight an e30 would lose though, the Elise is already fiberglass panels so it didn't lose nearly as much as an e30 would.

                            Well it depends on the type of CF, how many layers, etc. From the slight weight reduction with their CF chassis compared to stock, I assume that they used pre-fab cream of the crop CF with numerous layers which would be stronger than the stock chassis.

                              Its just clips. The chassis is honeycomb aluminum glued together.. Its just the bodyshell itself that was replaced with CF, the original bodyshell is fiberglass.
