Green or Blue Painters tape. 2.5" wide. $1.99 a roll... I would never ever use a real bra during winter.

Where can you get blue tape for $1.99 a roll?

But Chris is exactly right, you really don't want to use a bra in the winter, especially over a mountain pass. Grit and whatnot will get under it and kill your paintjob.

I've already decided on wrapping the front end in pallette wrap, and sealing it up with blue tape.

Come on, Jordan couldn't hurt you that bad :)

Josh, just make sure you leave the grilles open so your car doesn't overheat... 8)

Still allows for dirt to get trapped under the plastic. The flapping of the plastic will also be detrimental to the paint.

Imagine trying to wrap the airdam in plastic pallete wrap. Hell No thank you.

              Tape. do it.

Ken - how much does it usually cost? I just order it when I need it and its delivered 15 min. later.... commercial account.

That was like... WAY too much info.

As to the topic at hand.. I'd go with the popular vote here and save yourself some $ by rigging something up yourself. Good luck with it.

Oh dear god why did I click on this thread?!?!?!

Check your local autoparts store or shipping store/officemax. If not try a specialties plastic firm. I used to buy this blue shit that had a really weak glue on it that I stuck on the faces of computers I had shipped out with polymer faces to protect it to scratches. Its a LOT thinner than the stuff sold to protect flashlights but it should help somewhat on the roads and come off easily.

If you cant find it to buy try and find a place that makes/sells plexiglass windows. Gross sheets of it come with the same stuff on it. They might have a source or if you drove the car there you could apply it right off the plastic. :P
                    Im now E30less.

Chris, will that painter's tape come off easily enough when I get the car home? What about during driving, will it come off then?

That stuff sticks really well, but the glue won't stay on your car. Painters use it to stick to windows and such. It's like $5-6 per roll everywhere I've seen it.

Yes, Auto-X'ers use it all the time on their brand new cars with no adverse effects.
                          Wont come off during driving.

You got time, go buy a roll, and test it on the leading edge of your wifes car. see how well it works.
