talk about worst winter vehicle ever. E30s already blow donkey dicks when it comes to snow. Subtract x amount of weight from the rear and its almost useless.

      Um, sandbags?

Id rock it. Id do it like that and change the tails so I could have a tailgate. Its just a bitch lifting heavy shit over the lip.

Id love to make one of those, put in an M30 engine and tranny, Elarger driveshaft/guibo, and subframe connecters. Then tie in a really stout reciever and tow my car with it.
      Im now E30less.

Don't forget to add the Alpina pkg. How awesome would THAT be?

Um.....there is an AWD variant of the E30. Hack one of those up. That will solve your problem.

Answer -= Thier "white trash" ! Cant you tell by the guy with the middle finger up at the camera ? His name is probably Jeb or Bubba and thinks that putting his middle finger up at the right moment the picture was snapped is the funniest thing in the world.

It would be a super interesting project to tackel and great as a parts hauler as people have stated. I would not go with quite so much diamond plate on the bed area and surrounds. That is liable to blind someone on the road and attract way to much attention when parked. I might consider a good raw diamond plate and then use some black duraback or rino line /Line X it. That way you could slam stuff in the bed without worrying about scratches. As you see that bed on the truck is pristine and probably has never been used to actually haul parts and the like. Maybe cardboard boxes. :P

btm4k and I are in the process of building a truck out of his 86 325es parts car. Motor still runs and we just put the differential in yesterday. We dont plan on putting much money into it so it will be interesting to see the finished product.

Nah, its a truck. I wouldnt even lower it. Id keep the 4x4 suspension and try and source some stiffer springs. Id just make it so it could tow more. I wouldnt want to hurt the clearance.

I dunno, the ix already has worse weight distribution than most other E30s (I think around 54/46 f/r). not sure I'd want to make it much worse.. and for what it's worth, the ix in the snow drives about like a normal E30 does in the dry, I don't think I'd want it to be more tail happy!

I'd still love to do this to an old beater E30. it'd mostly be for show anyway..

I'll tell you right now, my wife's autotragic 89 325i with studded tires on it drives better in the snow than ANY vehicle I have EVER driven. I even had an 88 FWD Subaru GL sedan, with studded tires, and the E30 whips its ass in the snow.
