I had an english rhd 74 it was really cool being able to get out on the curb side. lol bought it for 400.00 not running. Replaced the battery, plugs, wires, rotor, cap and got it running. Drove it for 6 months & sold it for 1500.00!!
Not too shabby!
But I agree the round taillights are the way they should be. Still a cool car regardless.

I agree that a $600 02 is bound to have some rust it may just take some looking. As far as square taillights go, I do agree it was a move away from a more classic look but roundies in real life driving were lacking because of their small taillights. It was alwas a little scary to drive my 72 tii on foggy days as the taillights were barely visible to traffic. Anyways I have a 76 as my daily now and it makes a good driver. Personally I think squares look just as good if a bumper swap is done.
Never owning a square taillight is just silly what do you think the ultimate 2002's the Turbos were. :roll:fuck square tail lights. it kills the classic look of the car. I will not buy an 02 with square tail lights

That's not true.Originally posted by CharlieIt's a 30 year old car, you had trouble maintaining an e30.
It's a 600 dollar 02, it will have rust. You don't see it, so it means frame rust.

We own a 72' Fjord Blue 2002 we bought for 500.00 with no rust, but no interior and a list of issues.
My friend picked up a 71' 2002 with no rust but a list of issues to deal with for 750.00.
Both were rust free SoCal 2002's.
But the thing about maintence is very true, if you can't afford an E30, don't even think about buying "special" BMW's like E30 M3's and 2002's and M5's etc.Comment

When I got my Tii I looked at a 74 Turbo just like that one in the picture above. I thought about it hard but it had 165k, alittle rust & the guy was firm at 8k (in 1982) I kept looking and found my Inca 72 Tii.

Yea it was literally perfect until the idiot ran the light & knocked the front end off. Watching the fire department try to open the hood at the wrong end hurt like they were prying at me with their tools. :(Originally posted by aaron_silvaInca...

It's a lot easier to find a less rusty square tail car than a circle one.Originally posted by 318driverfuck square tail lights. it kills the classic look of the car. I will not buy an 02 with square tail lights.
It's not like you can't switch out bumpers and pull smog crap off either.

Yup smog, bumpers, hell even the taillights can be changed. The whole rear end that the taillights are on is one piece it can (if you are crazy imho) replace it with one from a pre 74 car.

Yes, that deffinatly is true. However, while im in my look for 2002s, I usually just pass right by the later model square taillight versions. In my situation, i have all the time in the world to find a good early circle tailligh model, so i dont even bother with the square taillight models.Originally posted by CharlieIt's a lot easier to find a less rusty square tail car than a circle one.Originally posted by 318driverfuck square tail lights. it kills the classic look of the car.
