It seems to me like the overall demeanor of the board is really getting very pleasant. New members are popping up all the time, and it seems like tech questions are getting answered very promtly and with great info. The overall feel of random discussions are getting better, and there seems to be much less flaming going on.

Something that really got me stoked was the response to a request for an Oregon meet at the end of February, which is when I get my new E30. It's gotten a huge response, and there are even several guys driving down from Washington to come. I've also been told by several of the guys coming, that it's mainly to be there to see my new car. I can't help but say that the community we have is just awesome. TJ made a comment in another thread about how it was cool that at any given time, we pretty much know all the mods that another member has done to their car. That sense of community was really lacking here for a long time. But it's come back in a big way, and it makes me feel good to be a part of a community that is so supportive of it's members.

When Jordan's tranny broke down 300 miles from home in Olympia, Washington, James Crivellone was there. He drove almost 2 hours at 11pm to bring Jordan a transmission, and then stayed on with the guys until almost 5am, putting it in. And he even told Jordan not to worry about paying him for it until he could. On the same night, Matt325is hooked me up with a brand new set of dual valve springs, for a car I didn't even have yet. He told me not to worry about paying him right yet, and even now when I ask him, 7 months later, he just tells me "whenever, it doesn't matter". Slammed_E30 drove 2 hours down from WA to meet me in Portland, to deliver a front valence I bought from him. And I won't even get into how many times Jordan has driven almost 2 hours over here to help me with any and every E30 issue I've had.

I don't know what inspired to me make this post, but like I said, the feel of the board lately has just been so awesome, and so welcoming. It seems like whenever someone has an issue, everyone is always right there, ready to run in and help in any way they can, be it on the board or on the road. I've been fortunate enough to meet almost 30 members from here, and formed great friendships with several of them. Jordan is one of my best friends, and has been for almost 3 years now, and several others have become great friends as well.

        Well said.

I figured after 3 pages of posts this was worth reading a second time. The R3V community has always been there to help when people need it most. In any emergency situation thereis always someone to help. There are alos people here for the newbies, I remember meeting James Crivollene(sp?) for the first time. I was out near his house with Ryan (Banned many times) and we just dropped in. James was super nice and was willing to answer any questions I asked then and any help I would need in the future. Well, I guess all this is just there to say thanks to everyone for all you kindness and help.

I've met plenty of people here, and actual fellow E30 guys in Maryland. I was the only one for awhile, glad to see people came around!

My new friend John in Hagerstown is going to help me with my entire suspension revamp, and I can't wait. Without him, I'd be very lost when putting all these components in.

And now I have a small business going on R3V that I'll let you all in on soon enough, although you guys lowball like no other. But hey, I love this place.

          - Dan.

Damit. With all this PNW brother hood crap, I think I am gonna have to move.

DAMN YOU ALL, do you have ANY idea how much it will cost to move a house worth of stuff ACROSS THE COUNTRY??

Anyone have 5,000 bucks they want to loan me? I will have Josh pay you back...

Then there are countless others online.
I am SO hurt that you didn't mention me by name! Including me in the "countless others" really cheapens our relationship TeeJay!

that's why you burn the house down and collect the insurance money, then move. problem solved. ;)

p.s. I hate you all and your damn 5 speeds.

oh I will eventually, but right now my focus is having a well maintained auto rather than a broken down 5 speed. ;)

Im new in the E30 community and Id also like to say that this forum is d0p. :) Its a great getaway to other forums I visit/possibly mod for. Seems how other forums were a few years ago, I hope it doesnt get like that, but if I know E30 guys, Id say they are pretty tight knit. My best friends, of all the dudes Ive met on forums, are E30 guys by a fucking long shot. Not only car friends, but life friends. On a less mushy note.....BIMMERFEST '05 I wanna see some of you guys!!

I feel the same way as many of you do, it is a great, friendly community, and we all share one thing in common. I know I have, and will continue to help others whom I sometimes have only met online, with parts, or a place to stay for a night or whatever.

Mariano, When is Bimmerfest 05? I was thinking of coming last year, and may this year, it would be an awesome road trip, and would get to meet even more of you guys.

                              Anyway, peace
