good, maybe now I'll be able to buy an entry level BMW and drive it year around. I still bet that entry level will be $25k or more.

Sounds awesome, more BMWs the better. Maybe a 3-cylinder diesel for me to drive daily so my E30 can become a garage queen and weekend warrior.

BMW has had a FWD model, it's called a MINI.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

What do you mean by that? The current Mini is a BMW original.

That is what snow tires are for. Stability control and good tires are your friends. I would rather drive it than my E53. The X5 gets squirrely sometimes.

I think it's a great move on their part. It's not like it's going to affect our cars.

And to all you kiddies that think that FWD is the only platform worth having, come out to my local autocross and check out a few of the MkI VW's the guys from EDGE Motorsports are bringing out to play. They will stomp the dog shit out of anything you bring and send you home crying.

The current model may be a BMW "built" car, but what I mean is that mini, the company and the FWD platform, were not designed by BMW.

Hopefully this means BMW can bring down starting prices on their higher end cars and improve their electronics.

RWD or AWD converted??? If so, very nice, really want to do AWD to my mk1.

Also, this car is going to be seated under the 1 series. So whats it gonna be, the 0.5?

Nope, they're all FWD. Most of them running 1.8T or VR6 swaps. They consistently put down faster lap times than anything else there when they show up at events.
