BMW had FWD E36 prototypes running around in the 90s. Nothing came of it.

Speaking of minis, i was watching a show on HD theater the other day, with a special on Getrag manufacturing, and they were showing how they have sucessfully converted a few BMW mini's to AWD, and were working with BMW to bring them to the market in the near future. That'd be awesome, and plus they were showing them on snow, and it looked fu-realz fun.

I was at the dealership ordering parts the other day, and the girlie spied the new 1-series as "cute". Me being the BMW encyclopedia waxed poetic about its supposed return to 2002 roots and it being the closest thing to the e30 in production. I'm blabbing away telling her how it is the entry level bmw that people like us could afford, and then she pointed out the price sticker....

$$37k!!! and it didnt even have the 3.5 twin turbo engine, it was a 128. It did have sexy red leather interior though. BMW's nickel and dime option customizing makes it easy to add 10k to a car. Ridiculous. Sign me up for an awd mini though.

Regarding the AWD and VW - I know a guy that has a VR6 turbo 4x4 Golf II, putting down about 700hp.

I wonder if they are going to call it the 1/2 Series. Or the 0.5 series. lol

*** Hahaha, the only good thing about FWD is having your girl drive it for you, nuff said!!
