If you do a bit more research on these statistics you find that the dimbulb "1 Series are FWD" answers were 3 and 5 door 1 Series owners, ie. appliance car buyers. BMW said just about ALL the 1 series coupe buyer knew the 1 Coupe was rear wheel drive. Check out BMWBlog.com. Jeez, I gotta stop posting comments in threads after having a Margarita.
