i saw 3 broken windsheilds and a new glass company all of a sudden a month ago on my schools campus.

i replaced the convertible top on my first car, a chrysler lebaron, and it was a complete pain in the ass.

maybe e30s are different. but i cannot see how convertible tops are so different that it becomes "easy."

it is a bitch and a half to do.

edit: if the insurance company gave me $2500 to do it, i'd do it again though. cause the top cost me $200.

        sad to hear that.

hardtops are sweet, but not asshole proof.
my friends cabrio was hit a few months ago
took his seats, hardtop and softtop out of the storage.
he went from 2 tops to zero.

many a e30 owner is on the lookout for his stuff.
another friends whole car was swiped, and never found,
its f-ing crazy, and i would suggest an infra-red detector for your alarm.

i had a problem with cats nesting on my top, so i installed an i.r. detector, and now, whenever anyone even gets within 1foot of my car, it will chip, and if they stay, or continue to intrude, it sounds off.
