I stripped my oil drain plug last week. I started talking with my cousin he told me about this oil drain valve. This seem to be a good idea so you will never strip the pan/drain plug anymore and will make changing the oil easy. Also heard their is one with a hose adapter which will be a plus if you have a skid plate. Wanted to know have anyone used these or want do they think. Being that I stripped the pan or the drain plug most likely I will have to call them to see if they have a 12.5-1.5 drain plug.

i've used 3 fumoto valves on past cars; they work great but I never used the fiber washers included.
depending on the depth of the threads a lot of subaru people have to file down the last three threads or make a small groove to make sure all the oil drains. If you can get a spring clip for security to place over the valve it's beneficial but not neccesary you can use a small hose clamp. The first one I ever used was so hard i had to open it with a needle nose plier, not really a bad thing. at least it wont open and dump all your oil if something bumps it.
...if that happens you probably have something bigger to worry about.Originally posted by FredKHowever, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).

if its made of plastic, remember that oil gets hot, and it will heat/ cool over and over.
plastic does have a shelf life before it gets brittle, so maybe buy a few of em, and replace them every 4 years w/timing belt
just an idea.3 pedal club

That looks good. With all these designs the only thing is does it drain the same as removing drain plug. Not leaving more oil behind.
