I bought my 87 325is with 180K and drove it without major incident for another 50K and it is still going.

Whenever the question is to buy another e30 the answer is always yes.

The more pertinent questions are what should be done with it and whether the condition justifies the price...

When you refer to a car as a "dd" it seems to imply that you have another car for nice days or weekends or something. E30's are great "dd's", but as an only means of transportation.... that's your call.

As owner of same car, if it is your second car, do it.

                    Only car? Fuck no.

a lot of people have e30s as their only car. i think its a great only car.

it may be my mon-fri DD, but i know many people who have it as their only car. i also wouldnt use it as a DDer, if i thought it was unreliable. i mean.. if its good for mon-fri, whats 2 more days?

The only reason I would never recommend an E30 for an only car is due to people beating the crap out of them, breaking stuff and finding out the hard way that some parts are harder to get than other brands.

It isn't an issue for me, as I have tons of spare parts, and what I don't have I can generally get pretty quickly, plus I have all the necessary tools and such to get things fixed. These cars are at least 20 years old, stuff is gonna break!

So if "DD" doesn't mean "daily driver" what does it mean?
