I remember reading about this when they first started it a few years ago. Forgot all about it, but it's nice to see they actually reached their goal.

Also cool to see that everything is still supposedly in spec.

Back in 1990 Mobil bought a new BMW 325i and decided to test out their lubricant Mobil 1 by running the BMW for over 1 million miles. Basically they put the Beemer on a rolling road and left it there to run 24/7 for four years!

Everything last longer in controlled environments. what would be interesting as if you did it in real roads, in real driving conditions. then see how long it lasts. but cool nonetheless.

I bet they were taking it real easy on the car, they would want the car to make it to 1M, so the company can promote and sell its product. If they rev'd the shit out of the motor and ran it real hard, and if failed short of 1M, it would be more difficult for them to promote their oil.
