I've been thinking I want a 318 for awhile now to use as a daily. Alpine late model 4 door with H&R sport springs would be perfect for a DD. -
That's also another plus of the eta, the mpg. It get's very good mileage for a s6. I am contemplating selling my 325i and getting a 325e instead for a DD.Leave a comment:

... Really?! That kind of changes it then. Hmmm.
I have loved my eta from day one, but it has a little bit of body damage and I cant justify putting more money in to it. I bought for $800 and have put about $400-500 into it since then. I don't know what to do. :(
Its an everyday battle with the eta because I DD it so I spend a lot of time in it which makes me want to mod. Once you start you can't stop.Leave a comment:

also your eta gets better mileage than a 318is. I've been looking at getting a eta for that reason.Leave a comment:

I'd just leave the eta stock, maybe put a chip in it and a rear end but that's it. They are fun DD's as long as you only rip on it in first gear.Leave a comment:

HHHHAAAA so jealous! $500 is nothing... thats the deal I'm looking for.
And then my other problem is what to do with my eta!? I go back and forth trying to decide what to do with it. 327i?! Leave it stock and just drive it!? Its really hard to not want to mod.
I can't have three cars right now.Leave a comment:

The only joy you will get out of a 318is is IF its been maintained. So if you get a cheap one, plan on spending the couple hundred to bring it up to par. Also it has alot less torque than a eta. You'll enjoy it only if your autox or on the track when your going fast enough and at high enough rpm...that brings you back to having a properly maintained car. Daily driving is boring unless you drive crazy on the streets and rev your car.
318is are not quick...unless you have the $$$ to work on the engine. Just well balanced to handle corners so I think you'll be dissapointed.Leave a comment:

You guys are awesome.
I have no interest in a 318i. I would love a 325i or 325is, but the problem there is that out of the box they are aren't fast enough, but they are quick... I'm not sure how to explain what I really mean. ~They have potential to be pretty quick, but it takes a lot more than I can afford to spend to make that happen.
Thats what I have my M3 for.
Whether it be a 318is or 325is. Both are amazing cars and I wouldn't complain having either one, but I like the idea of my other BMW being a 4 cylinder. Mainly for the nibble handling and gas consumption because my M3 drinks like a damn V8 sometimes.Leave a comment:
