It takes time to learn how your car reacts. I started in the rain on stock sys and beefy tires. Now its just way to easy ,even with my eta lol I still have yet to e-brake it. Best bet is to get some tires you can learn with and go from there.

It doesn't take an M3 or loads of money to get on the track, you just have to have your maintenance and safety bits up to spec which you should have done anyway. First timers get $100 off their first track even through the BMWCCA too, making it inexcusable not to go.

you can normally find federal tires at your local mom and pop tire shops. try and see if their website list retalers. adams kart track in riverside has drift night on thursdays for 20

Try looking into driving/racing schools where you can learn the basics in a vehicle that is not your daily.

ill agree these "mad tyte drifters" dont help the real drifters..but it takes alot of control..and practice to be good at real drift events..

i dont drift myself...(tho when i am with friends and we are not near traffic or any other people i may powerslide a little or speed a little) i know some people who do and are decent at it

i dont take drifting seriously, its fun to do when you have a good wide area of wet pavement to your self. i have a huge intersection in front of my house that see's maybe 100 cars a day lol. so its pretty much my private intersection. its pretty fun to drift/donut the fuck out of/ peel out of/whatever you can do while looking cool in a car in it.
