Best FREE anti-spyware program ?

I use both Lavasoft's Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy. Between the two it'll find and clean just about everything.

Ditto. I got Adaware Pro for free though, and I stopped using Spybot afterwards.

IE is not the problem, people installing things they shouldnt is the problem.

I use Adaware got it for free too, I have spybot but don't use it anymore.

Microsoft´s Antispyware
Lavasoft´s SE is in a way better then Pro
and then Spybot,

Keeps me clean and I don´t even have virus protection ..
All you need is a firewall

i run AVG which is free antivirus from griosoft site

and spybot - keeps me nice and clean 8)

IE is fine, firefox is ok, but, most webpages are written with IE in mind

Or just quit clicking "yes" on all the popup and script windows you get when you visit your porn and warez sites.

Seriously, common sense goes a long way. I run IE6 SP2 with most scripting disabled and the default popup block, run spybot once every two weeks or so, and I'm absolutely fine. Quicker than running that firefox nonsense, and it actually loads pages properly.

Again, common sense, if a site tells me "here, install this file to view this text file for song lyrics", I generally tend not to hit "yes". I also don't install all of this P2P software crap, which is 10x worse than anything you can pick up through IE.
