He wasn't complaining. He was just wondering how to keep it off his record. Give the guy a break and don't jump on the "YOU GOT CAUGHT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT OF IT ON YOUR OWN" bandwagon. We are on a forum to help people with car problems. He has a problem and was just asking for help to take care of it.

        what timing

this came in my email, from someone, but read it and let me know what you guys think:

"Subject: Traffic Tickets.. hoepfully this is true!

        A TRAFFIC TICKET
WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A TRAFFIC TICKET !

Remember, this advice was sent to me by a retired State Farm agent! This system has been tried and it works in every state.

If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or whatever the case may be, and you're going to get points on your license. This is a method to ensure that you DO NOT get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it. If the fine is $79.00 make the check out for $82.00 or some small amount over the fine. The system will then have to send you back a check for the difference, however here is the trick.

DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK! Throw it away! Points are not assessed to your license until all financial transactions are complete. If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are NOT complete. The system has received it's money and is satisfied and will no longer bother you.

This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that sets up the standard databases used by every state.

Send this to everyone you know. You never know when they may need a break."

Pretty sure that is just an urban myth.

ok, first off, that last thing about the rebate, total myth, trust me. second, just a little advice from a guy who has gotten a lot of tickets, just go to court. it's your first ticket, they'll be lenient. 3 points is a lot. It will take years to get them back. You won't have to argue, you probably won't even have to present your case. They'll take one look at it and throw it out. Now if you have many other offenses in the past, well that's a different story......

Is this you at all times dude ------> :x ?? I think Ive seen all 11 of your post's and everyone consists of you bein an ass. Read the post before you come off like that.

Back on topic. Like mentioned above, call the number on the ticket and see if there is some alternative to just dealing with it. I dont think 3 points and an increase in insurance is a fair punishment. Its your first ticket so you should deffinatly get a little bit of a break.
