Yeah neither do it, BUT this year im on a different crew at my work, and we are having our inventory in april. So, NO vacations and we might have to work every saturday until inventory. So IF i have to work, im SOL but if not Im all over it.

it is about 1-3 pounds, i havent weighed it yet. ill do so tommarow. the fiberglass ones are about 1 lbs max.

i am trying to get it down to 250-275 for cf and 150-175 for the fg.

I think if you go by volume, FG is lighter then CF, but CF is stonger. So if two pieces are made of equal strength, then the CF one would be lighter.

But in this case, it is by volume, so the FG one should be lighter. Correct?

yes, but these peices that are cf are more for show then race. the fg parts are a full on race part. about as close as you get to full weight reduction. only other option would be to do what bryson did and gut the hell out of the roof and weld in a ~3x2 piece of tin.

the CF roof is basicly the fg one with the top half being cf. there is also the shinny coats that they have to spray on there to make it look pretty and be able to withstand the elements.

therefore the cf peice is heavier and costs more money, this isnt an auction. <--- PERIOD, in case some of you didnt realize.

Yes I know that carbon fibre parts can be made lighter & stronger than FG. I am very familiar with CF. Been using CF and FG on airplanes since I was a little kid.

If you read anything I wrote, I am refering to the products that shahe is making. FG one is lighter and cheaper. That is why I asked why anyone would want the CF one - seeing as the sole purpose of such mod is for weight savings.

OEM, CF or FG, it's not something that 99.999% of us are gonna notice anyway. I guess I'm being biased here, because I hate the CF-look-fad, and I see no point in replacing the parts just for looks.

But in you sig it looks like you have clear turn signas? Everyone has somthing on their car just for looks. This one has a double purpose, Looks cool and it weighs less. So if someone wants to spend so $$ on making thier car better in thier opinion, let em be.

Because imo, it would look pretty damn ugly if you left the sunroof CF pattern. FG is lighter and cheaper, seems like it has best of both worlds.

But for functionality, I would imagine that it would make absolutely zero difference for 99.9% of people here.
