    325i LSD Opinions:

Hey so my E30 came with a open diff, i was wondering what is the best bang for the buck with an M20B25....i've heard some say 4.10LSD and some other say 3.73LSD...what is the best combo for the 325i.

I do alot of highway driving. but i wouldn't mind to pick up some "off the line" acceleration.

    Discuss.

My 325is with 205/50/15 tires and a 3:73 diff is spinning around 3700 on the highway. I doubt you want a 4:10.

You should ask these guys, they know all about LSD.

If it's your DD, just stick with a 3.73. It all comes down to personal preference.

The 4.10 will make a very noticeable difference for sure, but for a daily driven highway car I would NOT do it unless engine wear is not an issue for you or you are ok with driving slower (which is what I do to and from events)

The 4.10 was good for me on tight autocross courses but other than that it's just not a good choice. I am going back to a 3.73 for a more useable 2nd gear during autocross runs.

                      i just went from a 4.10 lsd to a 3.73 open.

                      4.10 is a really tall gear. i'd actually prefer a mid 3 lsd. like a 3.46.

3.73 On the stock stuff. 3.25 wouldn't be bad if you were running undersized tires. 3.25 would be choice if you plan on stepping up to a ZF tranny.

4.10 is short. Tall gears are numerically lower.

I've got a 3.73 and I think it's about right for an M20 with a G260, 4.10 is pretty short but you'll obviously sacrifice cruising rpm. I think a 3.46 or so is ideal for an M50. Stock M20 gearing is actually pretty short. That makes it fun, but not as great for long distance cruising.
