I cant turn clockwise to lock the trunk. At first I thought the trunk lock was just jammed, but after spraying with wd40, still no luck

Ha. My driver door won't lock from the outside either. I have to walk around the car, reach into the passenger side, lean in and lock it from the inside. Also, one of my rear doors wont lock, and the other one is stuck shut. wont even open. Gotta love 20+ Year old German cars.

At least they're not american cars, where the doors just fall off after 20 years.

I got home tonight and took out the central module. Opened it up and didnt see anything wrong with it. Even with the central module disconnected, I cant lock the drivers door or the trunk! The passengers door locks from the outside. I still cant physically push the drivers door to lock.

              Any other ideas?

get a screwdriver socket wrench adapter. my tool kit came with a bunch of bits and a driver that goes on to the 1/4" socket wrench. it's awesome for small spaces like that, as well as the screws on the bottom of the HVAC/radio panel

got my trunk actuator out today

I think I found my problem.

Also I had no idea the actuators are so freakin expensive!! about $100

Cool, so that's what those actuators look like inside.

Even if you disconnect power to the actuators, you should still always be able to manually lock the doors with either the key or by pressing on the knob on top of the door, except the driver's door will only lock when closed.

If the key cylinder or knob won't move, then it's very likely the lock cylinder is buggered and jammed.

See this article for an explanation of why this happens.

The central locking control module contains a g-sensor that will automatically unlock the doors in an impact greater than 5 g.

The control module also has a built-in fuse mechanism. If you operate the door lock system too often in quick succession, or it cycles too often because something is jammed, it will blow this fuse. Pull the control module and open the plastic case.

                        Look for this:

When that resistor gets too hot, it melts the solder connection allowing the spring blade to separate and break the power supply. You might have luck re-soldering that connection. But if you haven't repaired the cause of this overheating, like a jammed lock cylinder, it'll just blow again.

yeah , i looked at my central lock module and nothing was visually wrong with it. I can turn the key in the drivers door but cant push the knob down. I ended up pounding the actuator down so the knob moves now. Now its all manual. sucks that I have to lock the drivers door from the passenger side.

                          So thats 2 broken actuators.

Also why the hell does the antitheft function on the obc not work? is it related to the central lock?

anti theft disables the fuel pump, it doesn't affect locks.
