So, since the weather has gotten approx 2* warmer since the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, it must be because we drive cars?

Well then, how did the earth "warm back up" after the ice age? Suppose the Geico cave men were driving SUV's...

Now I believe man has a significant impact on the earth, but as far as us learning to contain fire, burn fuel etc, I don't believe that has anything to do with it, but rather we should focus on our waste more so. Hell, I live in Florida next to one of nature's biggest reserves set by humans and we are warned NOT to live off the Everglades since the mercury content might perhaps turn my head into a giant thermometer.

We need to stop dilly-dallying and fess up to what we are doing to ourselves, and stop worrying about what the politicians tell us to believe.

You know I have gone through all this before, I dont feel like typing it all again. You can continue to buy into all the propaganda hook line and sinker. Just dont come crying to me or anyone else when it all comes crashing down and wool is pulled from your eyes and you all see what the real goal of Green/ C.C. movement is all about.

I will let you learn that for your self. I will give you a place to start. the CCX, Shore Bank, and Al gore, Emerald Cities, and Goldman Sachs. Its all out there, just do some digging.

No crying. Nature will take it's course weather or not we believe the sky is falling, or that we will visit the planet of the apes.

Life is a bitch, suck it up and move on, or mope like it will change anything.

I have sat and watched as the world was suppose to end in 1980, then 1990, then 2000, now 2012, whatever. Live like you are dying, or die trying to live.

Earth warmed back up after the last ice age because of something called the Dansgaard-Oeschger events. They're a 1500 year cycle of hot and cold, and the reason for all the ice ages. They're localized to the northern hemisphere, and accompanied with cooling in the southern hemisphere. This would explain everything, if it weren't for two problems. Global warming is occurring in both hemispheres, not just the northern hemisphere. Also, the oceans are warming, too, something that isn't consistent with the cycle.

If we were able to warm the earth 2 degrees in 150 years, we could easily cool it, too. Global Climate change is proof that humans have an influence.

Oops, forgot something in that last post. This cycle coincides with CO2 levels. Look at the graph below:

See anything wrong there? Any guesses as to where the temperature will go.

You seem to like to quote a lot and find info that someone else discovered to back your statements, right?

How can one accurately propose what temperature the earth was several years before we discovered a thermometer?

What does carbon dating say about a peach?

EDIT: Look back at the specific "adjusted/estimated" earth temps during um, I don't know, Bathonian period.

And I'm sure you've seen this one before:

Not that I like Al Gore, he's an idiot for turning Climate Change into a political argument, rather than a scientific one.

Yes, I do quote a lot, and find info somebody else discovered to back my statements. I am not a scientist. Like any argument, I believe that mine will be more credible with real data from people who have spent lifetimes working on this issue. There is nothing wrong with quoting data.

On the flip-side, I noticed you have nothing at all to back up your statements.

We can find the temperature of the earth long ago by analyzing core samples of ice from remote locations. Layers of ice are like layers of rock, you can analyze them to find out what the world was like when the water in them froze. Scientists can drill down hundreds of feet, and find ice that is millions of years old. We choose incredibly remote areas because there is almost no chance of human contamination there.
