Do E30 Vert's squeak and rattle a lot?

I am looking at a Vert nearby, but won't get to test drive it until next weekend.

Do they squeak and rattle a lot compared to regular E30's?

    Are they noticeably less stiff?

I won't want one if it will feel soggy and make a lot of noise.

      Really?

I have seen a couple posts on various threads where people have mentioned the cowl shake on their Verts. Just wondering how they compare to regular E30's in terms of stiffness, especially when lowered on stiffer aftermarket suspension.

Wind noise is moderate, and my top squeeks a bit... as for "stiffness" are you talking handling wise? there is no better feeling then throwing it sideways around the corners with the top down....

My car has bilstein sports and h&r springs and it feels very solid, not sure how it would compare to a coupe as i've only drivin vlads old 318is and didn't really get to test it out in the twistys yet. All I know is it makes my old 540 feel like a semi truck in comparison

If the verts are properly maintained they will not rattle and squeek any more than a coupe or a four-door. There is some body shake on rough roads.

They do have more chassis flex than a hardtop.

You will see cowl shake, especially with lowered suspension

Yes they squeak and rattle, but not much more than a hardtop.

verts have a much higher need for maintenance and especially upholstery care. since it is so exposed. Top needs to be care for constantly and regularly. Worn bushings make the car rattle infinitely more than coupes and sedans.

Then there is the leaks. Eitehr way cabrios are expensive thign to keep if done right. I curse it everytime it rains and bugs me to hell and back and I want to sell the damn thing. But a nice sunny day, with the top down in a e30 changes all taht.

Of course. More parts means more work. Steve makes it happen though!

My experience with the vert is that it had a whole lot more squeaks and rattles AFTER 5 laps at the Nurburgring, but your results may vary...
