my insurance carrier has roadside included in my policy. it was only an extra $10/6 months to upgrade to the 100 mile towing, and as far as i can tell it's unlimited

I have it through my State Farm policy, something like $10/yr.

I call the tow company of MY choice, take receipt to my Agent's office, she writes me a check for the total of the towing bill.

State Farm told me they couldn't offer me towing insurance on my car...never had a tow claim, huh.

i've had AAA+ on and off for years. why off? don't subscribe until you need it. then when you do, 1-800-aaa-help, and pay for your first year right then and there when you need the tow. i'd go the extra for the plus service. the lower level/non-plus AAA only tows like 100 feet or something. plus does 100miles, if i remember right.

back when i lived in VT, they would send the same dude all the time (prolly not gonna happen in seattle). i even got them to tow motorcycles when i used to mess with those. AAA won't support motorcycles, but if you can talk to the tow truck driver you can usually "work something out" (beer, $$, or if she's hot... wait, that was that story i read in penthouse.)

Why pay for auto club? Does anyone pay for plumbers club? I use my sink,toilet and shower all the time. If some thing goes wrong, I just call a plumber. No club fees.;)
