When my car was repainted it was with the same high gloss as the rest of the body. I don't mind...I sometimes think it looks better.
It will be painted gloss also. I do not like the flat look one bit.

Checking on the door locks tomorrow and the window trim is staying on.We discussed them this morning and we both agreed that they are easily damaged when removed.

Thanks. I try to pay attention to these threads so I can pick up pointers on prepping my own car.

Is that anything special that you stuffed into the window molding? Or would some 22 to 18 gauge wire work just as well?

The painter is aware of how easily damaged the window trim is upon removal. Yesterday he asked if I wanted them taken off or kept on and masked. I've never attempted to remove window trim before and I know that the trim is easily damaged and hard to find especially for the M. So yesterday I decided to just have them stay on,risk of being damaged and all.
The car is red already so it wouldn't really be too much of an issue with them painted on but speaking with a member on this forum today,he gave me some pointers on how to remove them. So I think I will attempt to take them off on my own before the car gets sprayed.
I actually was happy that the painter had asked me first before attempting to take them off and damaging them. He knew already that the trim on these cars are so easily damaged and rare.

Yes, definitely remove the window trim. Just take your time and it can easily be removed without damaging anything.

                          $3,500 sounds like a steal.

3500.00 Sounds great and the work looks real good. If only I could find a shop here in Seattle at that price.
