but then again you can say that about pretty much all cars.

My E30 is pretty rough eco wise. A full tank and drving like a granny keeping it under 2k rpm will only get me 400kms. For a light sedan thats pretty bad.

when they built the S14, the MPG rating wasn't a a factor...

I have had my M3 for the past 14 years and has been extremely reliable. I have only done maintenance on it.
