Rob, i dont know if the Z4 tail was s2000 inspired. I heard bmw engineers made the rear so big as a comeback to the people who complained of the small tail on the Z3...

Ok....I did a little research and here's what I was able to find out about VW's Concept R (roadster)....
Volkswagen has today revealed its mid-engined roadster prototype. As is vogue with all manufacturers at the moment the car simply gets the 'R' tag indicating its sporty intent. In this case it's name "Concept R".
Power for the roadster comes from a 265 PS V6 mid-engine which takes the car from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds, and on to a limited top speed of 155 mph. Without the limiter, top speed would be 167 mph. Peak torque of 258 lbs ft at 2800 rpm is transferred to the road via a six speed direct selection gearbox and rear wheel drive.
What gimmicks do VW have in store for us? There's the pulsator thingy for starters. When the driver turns on the ignition, the Volkswagen logo, which is generated digitally by a display, begins to pulsate in the so-called OLED screen. When the ignition is activated the pulse stops.
Secondly the Concept R’s bucket seats do not adjust in any way. Instead, to find the correct position, the driver moves steering wheel and instrumentation back and forth. The pedals move too.
And for the first time in a sports car, leather-covered active foam is used which adapts to the body shape of the driver and passenger; meanwhile the hardness of the springs in the seats can be adjusted according to whether a harder or softer ride is desired.
At least I was right about the selection of a V6 engine. We'll just have to see if this sucker actually materializes.

I've always figured this was the "poor man's boxster":Originally posted by e9nineBoxster = poor man's Porsche

140 hp, mid engined sub 2100 pounds, raw as hell car to drive, a lot of fun. The car's built on a spaceframe, when's the last time you saw that?
This is one of the "potential e30 replacement cars" I've considered.

Its the looks that scare me.....its a case of form over aesthetics but that car is just not my style. I'd take the 2 previous generations especially the 1st one if I wanted form over looksOriginally posted by Charlie

Both of which are in effect a rebodied, cheaper version of the lotus elise.Originally posted by TIATOActually that car is a re-badged Opel Speedster. Vauxhaul and Opel are both owned by General MotorsOriginally posted by Eurospeed88Originally posted by slammed_e30looks like a cheap knock-off of the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo.

GM needs to slap a "pontiac" badge on that car and bring it over.
