How come people put location init stickers on their cars?

i just dislike when people put the nurburgring sticker on their car and they've never raced or even been there! ive seen one on a stock mk4 jetta and i raged.

My dad told me,back in the day 60's/70's. Dont advertise stickers for something you dont have on your car (car parts- holley/isky cams/air lift/lakewood/edlebrock etc... ). Websites and stuff (R3V)like that i can see though.;)

I went through that phase years ago; I did it because that's what all of the NHRA and Gasser guys did back in the day.

I won't allow any kind of sticker near my cars now.....the last one had a decal across the top of the windshield when I bought it, and even though it had been scraped off for over a year, I could still see the outline of it every time I cleaned the glass or ran the wipers.

Stickers are for cars that are truly sponsored, tracked, raced and there is logic and merit for the stickers being there.

Otherwise, you're just a poser.

I can allow the track map stickers if the car/driver has actually driven at speed on said track. Not my thing, and very club-geeky, but to each his own.

As far as I'm concerned, the "shocker" and "I <3 Haters" stickers are to fanboys as sillybands are to pre-teen schoolkids.
