How come people put location init stickers on their cars?

In Greenville we've see Michael Jordan, KFC, McDonald's, Dr. Pepper, Charmin, Louis Vitton, Gatorade (It actually said Haterade) and I could seriously go on. There's a local Donk club here that rolls about 30 deep on weekends. I have never seen anything so unsafe in my life...

@Will: It's not a race-specific thing at all. There are tons of white and hispanic dudes that roll with them. One has a 3rd gen Camaro with 30s on it. Hideous and nothing short of hysterical.

To keep it on topic, we live about an hour from the Outer Banks, NC and I never see the "OBX" stickers that I used to see all the time when we lived up north. It's mostly people's initials in pink, mixed with the stickers noting how many family members are on board, with thier pets included. It's getting rather annoying.

I have "OBX" and a few other stickers on my rear glass. If r3v sticker didn't get washed off, it woulds still be there.

OBX sticker is there, because I've driven and ferried full length of islands in my e30, while camping along the beach entire way. It was a very memorable experience so I've put a little memento on the car.
