TV just made the guy an instant hero among his friends.

          Oppty fucking doo. Not 142mph!!!
This is just an example of who may be just, driving right beside you.
TV should stop sensationalizing every damn thing that a teenager does wrong.

Oh and I wonder how much the news station paid to get the video capture from his buddies' phone :?

Oh yah, and trooper's interesting point. 'If' he had hit a car doing the speed limit, it would be like hitting a car in a stand still.... oh wow, how enlighting, only an experienced trooper would have thought of that.

Acc. to the KMTR website, he was caught on suspended licence and no insurance.
Oh how ironic, the TV station just happen to miss, arguably the most moronic action that the kid took.
They actually made it sound like he got a suspended licence, then regardless, decided to drive out of the impound. The two stories are completely different.

Yes, the kid is a tool. But 142mph one of the fastest speeder in Oregon? That's amazing. Would I be so outrageous to assume that a good handful of us have driven or have been driven at speeds of 142+ mph?

The only real thing that amazes me re: the kid's intelligence is driving without a insurance, and actually driving in such way that would get him caught and/or crash-->$$$$$$$$$$$$.

sorry about the long, meaningless post. I just hate the TV news.

Agreed, with basically everything you said. If you were gonna get 15 minutes of fame, at least think up something to say. Talk about wow, when that is a big story for news. Of course FOX 10 gets some shit for their stupid stories too.

Champ? LOL That kid is a fucking idiot.

Yes - he had no intake - that was the throttle body - which means he had no filter on there. Wow - IDIOT. Who needs a CAI?!

Let me get this straight - the dipshit in the pos honda had "total control of his car at the speeds he was going."

BUT - at the same time, he said, "that's the first time I've ever gone, like, fast on the freeway."

So - he has no experience - but has total control and knows what he's doing??

Just like royalflush said - that trooper was a moron. WOW - he stated something that even my 13 year old sister could figure out in her own head. Thanks for stating the obvious, officer.

Definately a good laugh tho...stupid people are funny!

I put my entire car on the day he gets his license back and gets an insurance quote, it will be lower than ours with clean records in Ontario. You can have my car if I'm wrong.

when you're going 140+, i really doub't it would be wise to look for police and not keep your eyes on the road.

If you have a radar detector, giving you a few seconds warning, best you'll do with most cars is get it under 100, and i really don't think slammin the brake pedal at 140+ is the best idea either.

These people do give modders a terrible name. This is a huge problem in society today. Teenagers/young adults/adults want a place to go fast, but because of lawsuits and public fear brought on by bits like this, its very hard to build new places for people to go legally fast. I've drive that fast on public roads, so have many of us, but i don't any longer because it's not worth it. I'm going to wait until i can get to PIR, SIR, Pac Raceways, ect. Between the porsche, alfa, and bmw clubs at PIR, i could track every weekend of the summer starting baout 2 weeks ago. Combine that with thefriday night drags at the track (if that's your thing)... there are plenty of ways to get your fix. Driving fast on the street doesn't mean your a bad ass, it means you're a throttle jockey, and you'll kill someone. The funny thing about this is the kid is like "I want to go race on PIR"... oh great, now i have to worry aboout some dumb shit who thinks he's fuckin Schumacher in a FWD DOHC V-tech civic trying to pass in the festival turns and running people off the track... this kid and rice rocket jockeys like him, need to be slapped with a big limp dick - they are fucking it up for the rest of us.

Trust me, it's not what you say. It's what they can make you say.

I was featured with some friends in a drifting article for the local newspaper. You would be surprised at how inaccurate the whole paper is. She did not put ONE of her questions for us in. And all of our quotes were some of our jokes with each other. The main one was my friend who said "This isn't like the Fast and the Furious......" and surprisingly enough, the headline was "'Fast and Furious' drifting hits the South Florida scene"

The media is hopeless. Once I read the whole article, I was scared because of all the bullshit they talked about something I understood, and I then had a glimpse of how much bullshit is probably in the things I'm not that knowledgeable on.

I need to understand how this works.

If it means I have to legally change my address to somewhere in the states I will do it.

A Honda Civic can do 142 mile an hour?

A friend with an actual modded hatch with a swap says his wheels feel like they are gonna fall off at 130.
                                Im now E30less.
