    WE CAUGHT SADDAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah! Go america! heres the scoop. Im shocked he would even hide in Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (Dec. 14) -- American forces captured a bearded Saddam Hussein as he hid in a dirt hole under a farmhouse near his hometown of Tikrit, ending one of the most intensive manhunts in history. The arrest, eight months after the fall of Baghdad, was carried out without a shot fired and was a huge victory for U.S. forces.

''Ladies and gentlemen, we got him,'' U.S. administrator L. Paul Bremer told a news conference Sunday. ''The tyrant is a prisoner.''

Saddam was captured Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in a specially prepared ''spider hole'' in a house in Adwar, a town 10 miles from Tikrit, said Lt Col. Ricardo Sanchez, the top U.S. military commander in Iraq. The hole was six to eight feet deep, with enough space to lie down, camouflaged with bricks and dirt and supplied with an air vent to allow long periods inside.

It's a good thing we caught him, but it won't change anything. Iraq is still inhabited by three groups that hate each other.

Your right, there is still a lot of rebuilding to do in that country. This is one step towards that. There is a looong road ahead, and a lot of $$$$ invovled..

If the dude was living in a hole do you really think he has been running the country? I mean c'mon. However, that victroy will be a huge morale boost for our troops and the people of Iraq, watch the News Conference when Bremmer tells them the new developments. That place went crazy. They're just 1 step closer to freedom. George W's relentless tactics finally paid off. Way to kick ass Mr. Bush. Oh yeah little bit of bragging is due here. The troops that found that bastard...yeah, they're from North Carolina.

Congrats the "good ole boys" in Iraq! :D

Long road.....definately. But this is a really really big accomplishment for the US. Not that it will help at all with rebuilding Iraq, but it'll have a sense of success for our country. Well, it might help in the fact that his people will stop believing he is going to return.

The main problem in Iraq is $$$. For a country that is worried about terrorism, and wanting to destroy opportunies for it, we sure are cheap. A weak government in Iraq means it could be overthrown, or will not be able to keep tabs on terror. If we rebuild the nation successfully, with a good police power and a good government (in our eyes meaning democracy), then the threat of terror from that region will decrease.

And then we can start profiting from the oil!

He kinda looks like Theodore Kazinski (sp?).....only uglier.

He capture won't completely change things in Iraq.....but at least the citizens of that country can rest peacefully tonight knowing that man will never control their country again. There is still a long road ahead before permenant change can take place in Iraq, but Saddam's capture is a big step in the right direction.

One other thing. Having captured Saddam will pretty much secure George W. Bush a second term in office. He (along with our military) has made significant history today.

I was just waiting to see who the first person to post on it would be.

But like MattE30 said, it's not going to change anything. He hasn't been in power since he was removed several months ago.
