There are companies selling performance kits for the e36 M3 using the M50 manifold to gain power. The intake holes are larger than the M3's, resulting in more airflow. By itself I'm not sure there is any noticeable difference though, I'm too tired to search tonight.

Ignore all these guys with their e36 hate. Nice find!

If you can get the car into gear when the motor is off but it's a real bitch when the motor is on then you probably have a simple clutch master/slave cylinder job.

                Get to work!

LMAO. I guess I wasn't the only one who got led on and blue balled by this thread. Nice M3 though.

God.... I feel like I've been tricked into walking into a bedroom expecting to find two hot half white half asian girls and all I get is a fat black chick.

Lol, jk, turn that shit into something and report back!

I was also tricked, please edit the first post and put 1996 or whatever year it is in there. $3400 for an e30 m3 = awesome $3400 = e36 m3, not bad ;) just have blue balls now.

oh yeah and do a search on ko performance. don't buy from them.

It is easier to get into gear when the engine is off, but its a real PITA when both on and off. When its on, you have to guess where the gear is, and give it a good jam to get it in..

Nice buy - when I read your description of the body, I was expecting worse when I opened the pictures.

                              Good luck and enjoy it!

I thought it was an e30 as well even after reading 1998, thought it said 88. Still nice pick up. Not my favortie bmw but, still cool.
