Congrat on your purchase. Only tackle the essential/safety work and leave the rest. Otherwise you will soon realize your $3.2K bargain will turn into a $10k+ money pit. You are most likely into a $4k job to remove dings and repaint the car properly. Silver is not easy to match. Air humidity will affect the orientation of the metallic reflection. So, you want the whole car painted. And everythig must be taken apart for a good job. Which equals to lots of $.
Now, document your resurection.

haha, my eyes glazed over the red 1998 M3 and thought it said 1988 M3 since this is an e30 forum. I intently read the content, so jealous of your success, then saw the photos of an e36. Albeit still a good score, not something to feel sorry for buying that cheap. I hope you get it back to glory.Leave a comment:

Nice buy - when I read your description of the body, I was expecting worse when I opened the pictures.
Good luck and enjoy it!Leave a comment:

It is easier to get into gear when the engine is off, but its a real PITA when both on and off. When its on, you have to guess where the gear is, and give it a good jam to get it in..
Ok its all edited now!Leave a comment:

I was also tricked, please edit the first post and put 1996 or whatever year it is in there. $3400 for an e30 m3 = awesome $3400 = e36 m3, not bad ;) just have blue balls now.
oh yeah and do a search on ko performance. don't buy from them.Leave a comment:

God.... I feel like I've been tricked into walking into a bedroom expecting to find two hot half white half asian girls and all I get is a fat black chick.
Lol, jk, turn that shit into something and report back!Leave a comment:

Ignore all these guys with their e36 hate. Nice find!
If you can get the car into gear when the motor is off but it's a real bitch when the motor is on then you probably have a simple clutch master/slave cylinder job.
Get to work!Leave a comment:
