Hey everybody, thought I'd bring this thread back to life, but for only a brief moment. My girlfriend and I are starting our road trip tomorrow, and heading to LA. I started a thread where I will be documenting my trip here:

I see you have Gus's Fried Chicken on your list in Memphis. You may want to check out some Memphis barbecue instead. Gus's is OK but barbecue is better - just IMO. Charles Vergo's Rendezuous is great and it's downtown. Can't come to Memphis and not eat barbecue.

make sure to eat a restaurant called mariasol in santa monica. its right at the end of route 66. at the far end of the pier.

and eat outside.

Hey folks, made it to Cali a month ago. Been staying in San Diego.

Moving up to Long Beach end of the month and staying there for 3 months.

Then we'll be moving further into LA, anywhere from Santa Monica to Los Feliz. That, or head back to NYC or Nashville or Austin.

Thanks everybody for all the advice along the way. things are going well so far. Those of you who suggested I live in Long Beach won. (Wasn't my choice, but girlfriend's cousin has a condo, they're letting us use for mega cheap.)
