these things were bad ass in race trim. you can not find a decent turbo one around (not that I looked)

what do you mean? there are plenty. I was pretty into that scene, still am.
Turbocharging isn't too hard with these, like not at all. The engines are all the same, all you really need is the manifold, injectors, turbo, piping, ecu, the little stuff. Got really close to turbocharging this, but I bought the e30.
The car is still around in the family, and hope to pick up where I left off, maybe sometime in college.

CA Smog Exempt = roundie 2002 or Porsche 914 2.0L

Well, Porsche was using a MFI (mechanical fuel injection) system on the production 2.4 liter motors in 1973 but in late 1973 they began using Bosch CIS (continuous fuel injection) on the magnesium-cased 2.7 liter engines. Here's an overview of the topic....

If I had to get rid of my E30 I wouldn't settle for anything less than a Mclaren F1.. But I have been eyeing the new Fiesta.
