Engine oil in Air Filter Box?

I opened my air filter box couple of weeks ago to find engine oil on the air filter.. I took out the filter, cleaned the box, drove for a week opened it up again and oil is there again.. What could be the culprits to this. Is it just a sign of an old engine... worn pistons? What could be done to seal it... Im still running the car without an air filter...

Are you sure it is engine oil and not oil from an oiled air filter? Also the crank case vent on top of the valve cover does spit some oil into the intake tube.

Yes, its the engine oil 100%. Do the E30's have a PCV valve?

A little bit in the intake is normal because of the crank case vent.

no there is a Crank Case Vent into the bottom of the intake just after the Throttle body. And its normal

Can the crankcase vent get clogged allowing less oil to be vented out?

I took the filter out intitialy because when i first checked it it was soaked. I wanted to see if the oil had just accumulated over time on the filter, so I ran it for a week without filter, opened the box and I found a good amount of oil. At this point im asking on what I can do to reduce the amount of oil being spit into the box, because i cant be changing air filters monthly.
Im guessing its worn piston rings or clogged valve... hoping the latter is possible and that that is the actual cause.

Any more input will be appreciated. thanks all

Dont drive your car without a filter man, if you think plowback is bad, wait until you suck something into your valves.
