after untold hours perusing the for sale threads for bits and pieces of my ongoing project beater/dd, i've noticed a trend. namely; used items like interiors, complete motors, bumpers, fenders, and other bulky items are generally sold locally. not a big deal, nor a huge surprise, right? what i'm wondering, and hoping a mod might be able to answer for me is if a regional classifieds sticky/sub-forum might be a useful (feasible?) tool for forum members, both those looking to unload bulky stuff, and those seeking it out. just a though, c&c is welcome.
Regional classifieds sub-forum?

Regional classifieds sub-forum?

Instead of having to create another classifieds subforum, the mods should allow state prefixes. If you want to see an example, go on zilvia.net and check their classifieds section. Every thread has a state abbr prefix. You can even search by prefix so you can focus on your state/surrounding states.
Me thinks this is best way to go so as not to actually add another section or two.2008 335i - n54b30

I believe it could be helpful for buyers AND sellers, but there would only be two forums.

My mother lives in Asheville, and I've been there about... 3 times in the last 2 months. I saw a COUPLE of e30's, but most were beaters. I was really wanting to drive my 318is up there and take it up to the Parkway, but I had my e46 325xiT and that was pretty fun..
Anyway, I'm hoping to move to Asheville in the next 6 years or so.. have to finish grad school and all that good stuff. Hopefully I'll still have the e30 then.
Oh, and Mellow Mushroom and Green Sage are awesome.Comment

we have talked about it.
the easist way would for you (the sellers) to add your state or city to the end of your thread title. that SHOULD be picked up by the search engine.
if not, at least you could see it in the thread title when you were searching.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

Agreed. Why not make the seller state their city/state or ZIP a requirement in all classifieds just like posting a price? Should they not, and are advised to by others (or a mod), prune the ad until they understand rules are rules. Abide or go home. Simple.

then you just search for the part you want ANNNNND
READ the thread's headline, then you will know the stae or city the parts are in.
V-bul. is not the greatest seach engine, but it can do ok with a little effort.seien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

Yea but sometimes I just want to see what it close to me. And it wouldn't be that hard to allow state abbreviates to be used in the search engine.1989 325i Alpineweiß II
