    where are typical rust areas

    I'm in the process of undercoating my car for a brutal winter. Just curious where just occurs most commonly so I dont miss anything.

    floors by lower front fenders, lower front fenders, bottom of doors, licence plate lights, floors by gas pedal, trunk battery tray, shock towers, rear strut towers, ungh...

            Ya you'll be getting some snow in new york. I'm in P.A. and i've been patching and under coating all the holes getting ready for the winter. Well this is were i found all my holes from the previous owner never taking car of the car

            Both floor boards, both bottom of fenders, above exhaust where it levels out right after the headers, both corners of lower trunk, and even the inside of the sunroof.

            Also i good idea after undercoating is when you change your oil save some and brush it on under your car and drive down a very dusty road to make it stick. Its a cheap and very efective way to undercoat

              it makes more sense now.

              I have to prime/paint and spray undercoat on all the floorboards I have just welded into my 85'...thing looked ok when I got it...lol
